In RenderX, key developers of core software components directly answer customers' questions, help them install, maintain and fine-tune their systems. RenderX customers work in tight cooperation with our engineers and get professional advices about both RenderX software and information technology in general.

On-Line Documentation

Manuals for most RenderX tools are published on our web site; additionally, we post and update white papers, tutorials, case studies outlining their use in various environments. We strive to provide our customers with all the information required to plan technological development and make proper design decisions.

White Paper: Oracle Integration

White Papers

In many areas of application of RenderX technologies, a significant asset is the experience. We value highly and promotes sharing of ideas and techniques involving integration of high-performance batch publishing solution with other tools and environments. To facilitate the collaboration and promote the exchange of knowledge, we publish technology white papers, written by both our engineers and our customers and partners.

Mailing Lists

RenderX maintains two mailing lists, xep-announce@renderx.com and xep-support@renderx.com.

xep-announce archive

XEP-announce is a moderated, read-only, low-traffic list. We use the list for announcements of new releases of RenderX software. To subscribe to the list, send a message with words: subscribe xep-announce in the body of the message to majordomo@renderx.com.

Other Resources

Our software is based on open standards, and a lot of information from many sources is available on the Net. Below is a list of some of the resources; we believe that these, as well as many other sources of information, provide an excellent base to build robust and reliable application software both for personal and for corporate environments.

RenderX XSL FO test suite

Extensible Stylesheet Language

XSL is a language for specifying stylesheets. Given a class of arbitrarily structured XML documents or data files, designers use an XSL stylesheet to express their intentions about how that structured content should be presented; that is, how the source content should be laid out and paginated onto some presentation medium, such as a window in a Web browser or a hand-held device, or a set of physical pages in a catalog, report, pamphlet or book.

An introduction to XSL Formatting Objects

This book is intended to address the needs of someone looking for an introduction to the Extensible Stylesheet Language(XSL) as specified by the World Wide Web Consortium at http://www.w3.org/Style/XSL. Specifically the XSL-FO aspect of XSL, an XML vocabulary targeted at expressing stylesheets which rigorously express how source content should be laid out and paginated for presentation.

Demo: Books in DocBook

DocBook XSL Stylesheets

DocBook is a document type definition (DTD) available in both SGML and XML. It is particularly well suited to books and papers about computer hardware and software (though it is by no means limited to these applications). XSL stylesheets transform valid DocBook documents into several formats, including XSL-FO, which is used to produce quality printed output.

DocBook XSL: The Complete Guide by Bob Stayton

The book is the definitive guide to using the DocBook XSL stylesheets. It provides the missing documentation to realize the full potential of DocBook publishing. It covers all aspects of DocBook publishing tools, including installing, using, and customizing the stylesheets and processing tools.
