EnMasse uses CLISER for formatting, the cliser's server part is in Java
and it is simple. Add your custom generator to
com/renderx/xepx/cliser/Server.java.

I still need your confirmation that the slowdown is indeed in the
internal parser; that is, before the logger start counting pages. Can
you do some measurements?
