    Hello Markus,

    The answer depends on the kind of annotations you need. XSL-FO and XEP
    do not provide means to create 'generic' PDF annotations. However
    there are means to create links and PDF-bookmarks (via RenderX
    extensions). Those objects are represented in PDf using annotations.
