[xep-support] Does XEP support glyph mappings for TrueType fonts

The XEP documentation mentions that glyph mappings can be defined
for Postscript fonts.

Can the same be done for TrueType fonts?

I would like to map a Unicode character that a font does
not have a glyph for to a glyph that provides an acceptable
representation
of the character.

For example, can I map U+2216 to the glyph for U+005C?
