[xep-support] Re: Blank docbook rendering with Oxygen...

Hi Keith,
This is a problem with the font setup for XEP.

When I open the FOP PDF with Acrobat and examine File > Properties >
Fonts, it shows the use of ArialMT and TimesNewRoman, both as "(Embedded
Subset)", so the font glyphs are included in the PDF file.

When I open the XEP PDF, it shows the fonts as Postscript fonts
Helvetica and Symbol, neither of which are embedded. These two are part
of the "standard" font set that Apple established with the first
Laserwriter printer as residing on the printer. So with the current
setup, the font glyphs are expected to be found on the printer itself
and are not embedded in the file.

So you will need to alter the font setup in the xep.xml configuration
file in the XEP distribution, but I don't know where that is on a Mac.

I would suggest contacting Oxygen support, as they are generally very
responsive and may be more familiar with such issues on a Mac. Even
though XEP is not their product, many of their customers employ it.
