If you are running the X4U GUI then you should see all the logging messages
right in the GUI. it should be at the detailed level by default which would
show you every page being output ... like below for a three-page document:

(document [system-id file:/F:/Testing/Standards/bgimage.fo]

  (compile

    (masters

      (sequence-master [master-name all-pages]))

    (sequence [master-reference all-pages]

      (static-content [flow-name xsl-region-before])

      (static-content [flow-name xsl-region-after])

      (static-content [flow-name xsl-footnote-separator])

      (flow [flow-name xsl-region-body])))

  (format

    (sequence [master-reference all-pages]

      (flow [1][2][3])

      (static-content
[1]|xsl-region-after||xsl-region-before|[2]|xsl-region-after||xsl-region-bef
ore|[3]|xsl-region-after||xsl-region-before|)))

  (generate [output-format ps][1][2][3]))

Formatting successful.

Other Acrobat files seem to be fine and there is no error message in
Acrobat, so I'm going back to the source file to see if it's halting the
generation. That's the question. Is there a log file or a switch to turn on
more detailed logging?

I was specifically told by RenderX to convert to PS, since our graphics are
EPS files. Supposedly, I can't do XML to PDF if my art is EPS. I have to use
PS as an intermediary step.

Perhaps I am confused ... are you asking us why Adobe software stops? If
so, please call Adobe.

And also if so (as we have seen many times) ... why wouldn't you run XEP to
get both PDF and Postscript? In a proper integration one can actually
generate both output formats simultaneously (i.e. render once, write both
outputs).

We have proven in a very large installation of RenderX that you can run ten
1000 page documents to both PDF and Postscript faster and in less memory
than Adobe can do a simple conversion of Postscript to PDF through distiller
for only one of those documents.

Hey there RenderX folks, hoping to get some help.

Running XEP Desktop to do a transform to PS (then later a PDF). The document
is incomplete. It generates a full Table of Contents and all the bookmarks
(in Acrobat), but the book stops at page 94 (and should be about 120).

I'm not getting any errors during the generation process through X4U
Converter.

Is there a log file I can check or a switch to turn on more detailed
logging?

Thanks.
