Gustaf,
I would like to see the outlines that produce this effect. Could you
please send us off-list PFA/PFBs for Helvetica and ZapfDingbats
that you used?
> Maybe better to embed them all the time?
How could we do it? We don't have a license to redistribute the
fonts themselves; only font metrics are public.

It's hard to say without trying your actual fonts.

Subject: [xep-support] Embedding Adobe standard fonts
Version 3.7.1
Got a message from my printer, telling me to embed Helvetica and
ZapfDingbats. When I type embed="true" and subset="false" for these in the
fonts.xml file, I get a NullPointerException at the end of the formatting
process and the fonts are *not* embedded.
Is this fixed in 3.7.2?
I also got an error message about the missing Helvetica font when I opened
the file in Adobe Reader 6.0, so it seems these standard fonts are not so
standard anymore. Maybe better to embed them all the time?
Hope for a quick reply, since I'm expected to deliver a new file.
Otherwise, is there a previous version where this works?
Gustaf
