I just ran a document in two different ways, one through the PDF output
processor and the other through the Postscript output processor and then
distilled it with Acrobat Distiller. I used OpenType fonts for the one
that went through the PDF output processor and the same Type 1 fonts
through the Postscript route. The documents looked largely the same with
one puzzling exception: in the running header the page number would
frequently have one of the digits misaligned with the other (looking
like a full-sized superscript). The same thing was happening with figure
numbers in image captions.
Any thoughts about what might be causing this?
