    Hello Nicholas,

You can pass parameters to the XSLT stylesheet that will set
initial-page-number for you. XSLT parameters can be specified on XEP
command-line as described in our documentation:
    http://xep.xattic.com/xep/doc/userguide.html#Command-Line_XEP
As for the usage of XSLT parameters in general - I think it is
described in the most of XSLT references/books. For example there is
good book with free excerpts from Ken Holman (take a look here:
    http://www.cranesoftwrights.com/training/), there are also several
mailing lists dedicated to XSLT (main ones are listed on our site at
    http://xep.xattic.com/xep/lists.html).

    Hope this helps.

NG> Again thanks for clearing that up for me.

NG> We also want to be able to set the initial page number from the
    command

    NG> Hello Nicholas,

NG> The 'initial-page-number' attribute should be set on
    fo:page-sequence
    NG> element.
NG> Regarding your questions about spanning blocks: elements with
NG> span="all" allowed only as direct children of fo:flow element and as

NG> Therefore I recommend you to return a step back and look if you can
