    Hello Alexander,

    I have made a test with two short FO files (Index_Entity_es.fo and Index_es.fo). The first one includes a entity Índice the second one includes the word Índice.
    It was fine in all cases:
    FO -> PDF
    FO -> PS -> PDF

    I have used the Acrobat Destiller 4.0 and the AFPL Ghostscript 8.11 for the PS-2-PDF conversion.

    But in the real world it will not work correctly. Maybe there are problems with my real FO files!?

    I will make some test with them.

    Hello Detlef,

    As I can deduce from your message you are generating PostScript with
    XEP and then transform it into the PDF using some third party tool.
    It may happen that this tools is responsible for the problem. What are
    you using for PS to PDF distillation? What version of Acrobat Reader
    are you using?
    Note that bookmarks are produced using PDFDocEncoding and your may not
    translate it properly into the output PDF. Note also that XEP utilize
    it's own font configuration and has nothing to do with Windows
    registry.

    Best regards,

    OD> Hello,

    OD> I have a problem with the bookmarks in spanish PS/PDF files on Windows PCs. I think this problem exists also for another languages.

    OD> For example the Word Index = Índice (see Index_es.gif).

    OD> PDF Bookmark:

    OD> You can see in the content area there are character substitutions. Could I work also with character subtitutions in the bookmark area!?

    OD> On Linux there are no problems. What have I to do under Windows?

    OD> Changing the 'UNICODE_ANNOTATIONS' makes no differnces. Maybe I have to change the entries for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes] in the Registry!?

    OD> By the way I am using XEP 3.7.1.
