    Yes, it does. Linearization is an additional post-processing step:
    it requires saving intermediate results to disk which may affect
    performance. (That's why it is off by default).

    Memory consumption should not be a big issue, however: the bulk
    of memory requirements comes from the formatter, rather than PDF
    generator.
