    In a series of numbered paragraphs I have the same indents (12pt), but they
    are formatted differently by XEP; the number 7 paragraph does not have
    enough space indented after the number. How come? Is there any solution to
    set a fixed indent irrespective of the paragraph that follows?

    This is what the relevant part of the fo looks like:

    **********************
    <fo:block font-family="Times New Roman" font-size="10pt" font-style="normal"
    line-height="11pt" text-align="justify" language="en" country="US"
    hyphenation-character="-" hyphenation-push-character-count="2"
    hyphenation-remain-character-count="2" hyphenate="false"
    space-before="11pt">
    <fo:inline font-style="italic">

       <fo:inline font-family="Times New Roman" font-size="10pt"

    1916)

    countries, etc.</fo:inline>
